Calterm 4 Changed Data Plate info to read-only?
#1
I noticed the V4+ Versions of Calterm do not let you write any data on the data plate, yet i never had a problem with V3.

Is this something im doing wrong, or have they just changed Calterm so it cannot be changed anymore?

Calterm 4.x versions aren't recommended for many buggy reasons, but I'm running Calterm 4.3.1 and it doesn't seem to have an issue writing to data plate data.
If I helped in any way, please give THANKS + REP!

I thought it was strange that engineering level software wouldnt let you change simple parameters like data plate features.. oh well!

It may be a bug with the version you are running. 4.3.1 works without issue, but I still recommend 3.17.0 over any other version at the current moment.

Dear ZyNot,

It means that I should use Calterm 3.17 ot Calterm 4.3.1

Another version is not stable.

Is it correct?

Sorry. I am new and don't have much experience.

Thanks in advance

Use 3.17.0.
Dataplate info is read-only and cannot be programmed on newer Calterm but for good reason.
If you change data plate manually while connected to live engine you will offset the calibration software phase.
This will cause engine to shutdown after a certain number of key-offs.

If you really need to use newest Calterm and need to program data plate then you need to put ECM/Calterm into super user mode, this will allow read only parameters to be programmed.
